Miriam Freedman, a special education expert and the author of several resources published by Legal Digest and Ed311, calls the recent Suprem
e Court ruling on IDEA “both reasonable and workable” for parents and schools, in an article on education blogger Joanne Jacobs’ website.
At the foundation of Freedman’s signature book, Special Education 2.0, is her belief that IDEA is due for an overhaul.
She told Jacobs, her hope is that the ruling will “help ease the adversarial climate that, unfortunately, has grown in our schools under the special education law.”
