Texas First Diploma TEA Zoom Webinar to Discuss Early Graduation Program

In 2021 the Texas Legislature added Texas Education Code §28.0253, which establishes the Texas First Early High School Completion Program to allow public high school students who demonstrate early readiness for college to graduate early from high school.

Under the statute, a school district or open-enrollment charter school may issue a high school diploma to a student if, using the required standards, the student demonstrates mastery of and early readiness for college in each of the designated subject areas.

A student who earns a high school diploma through the program is considered to have earned a distinguished level of achievement under the foundation high school program.

TEA has scheduled a Zoom webinar on February 24 to provide an overview of the program and answer questions. To register, please follow the link below.
