Supplemental Special Education Services (SSES) are on-line $1,500 one-time grants provided by the Texas Education Agency for parents of eligible students served by special education that have been impacted by COVID-19 school closures.
TEA is looking for businesses and service providers to join the SSES marketplace where SSES students and their families will shop for these products and services. They are looking for paraprofessionals and special education assistants, licensed/certified therapy and service providers, academic tutors, and other specialized service providers.
The SSES program has eligibility criteria. To be eligible for the SSES grant, students must currently be:
- enrolled in a Texas public school,
- enrolled in PreK – 12th grade,
- and a student with a disability served through Special Education.
Most families will not be awarded an account until we have access to the newly appropriated funds from the legislature, expected in January 2022. This also means that many applications won’t be able to be processed until then.
For assistance filling out the application, please visit: SSES Applications Troubleshooting and Tips page.
For questions and help, email SSEShelp@region10.org or call SPEDTex at 1-855-773-3839. If you would like to be a service provider contact SSESinfo@tea.texas.gov and visit TEA’s website HERE.
