TEA Launches Student Protection Resource Center

The Texas Education Agency has launched its Educator Misconduct Dashboard, an interactive tool that displays misconduct reports submitted to TEA, investigations conducted by the agency, disciplinary actions taken by the State Board for Educator Certification, and placements on the Do Not Hire Registry. The dashboard is intended to give parents, educators, and taxpayers clearer visibility into cases involving fraud, inappropriate relationships, and other conduct affecting student safety.

This dashboard is housed within TEA’s newly created Student Protection Resource Center, a centralized hub that consolidates information on student safety, educator accountability, and disciplinary processes. The resource center includes access to the Do Not Hire Registry, the Educator Certificate Lookup, and step‑by‑step guidance on how to report suspected abuse, neglect, or misconduct.

The resource center also provides practical information to help users recognize warning signs of misconduct, including behavioral indicators, boundary violations, and grooming behaviors. TEA emphasizes that these tools are designed for educators, school employees, parents, students, service providers, and the general public.

TEA highlights the legal requirement for individuals — especially school personnel — to report suspected abuse or neglect within 24 hours. The site outlines mandatory training, reporting procedures, and compliance expectations for school leaders, including timely reporting responsibilities and maintaining systems that support student protection.

Finally, the agency explains how TEA investigates allegations, reviews criminal‑history information, and collaborates with the State Board for Educator Certification to impose disciplinary actions when standards are violated. TEA leaders describe the dashboard and resource center as part of a broader commitment to transparency, public trust, and swift, appropriate responses to concerns involving student safety.
